Westcol's "tequilita," TheGrefg's "first blow," and Roro's "height": the stars of The Evening of the Year 5, 24 hours before their fights.

The countdown to Ibai Llanos ' Year 5 Evening is entering its final stretch: less than 24 hours remain until the La Cartuja Stadium , bathed in the scorching Seville sun, becomes the epicenter of boxing, streaming , and music. This is the first time that the Basque streamer 's biggest event has left Madrid and Barcelona to be held in the Andalusian capital, and it also has a new nighttime schedule. Given the weather forecast, which points to highs of up to 38 degrees, the organizers decided to delay the start of the Evening, which can be streamed live on Twitch , until 8:00 PM to protect the boxers, guest artists (including Aitana , Myke Towers , and Eladio Carrión ), and the audience of nearly 80,000 viewers from the heat. The event, therefore, will last well into the early hours, around 3:00 AM.
While hundreds of technicians and operators worked against the clock to complete the ring setup, test the artists' sound, and prepare for the weigh-in broadcast—which this Friday broke its own record with a peak of 674,000 viewers tuned in live on Twitch—in a press room hidden inside the former Olympic Stadium, (almost all) the contenders paraded. They arrived ready to show off the results of five months of training and sacrifice, and some, to get inside their opponent's head one last time.
"I don't know why I'm so excited," Colombian streamer Westcol tells EL MUNDO, with a smile from ear to ear. "I know we're all going to be nervous when we get into the ring, but right now it's exciting. We're in the final stretch of this whole process, which is finally going to end..." he adds, before clarifying that it's not that he wants the morning of July 27th to arrive, but that "the big moment and the day to show off and bring out everything we've practiced" has finally arrived.
On his left, he's joined by his opponent, TheGrefg , with whom he'll star in the seventh and final bout of La Velada: the long-awaited main event . "I have no doubt I'd accept the fight again: 100%. But maybe I'd look for an opponent who doesn't demand so much from me... and who doesn't post so many shirtless photos," jokes the Colombian, to which the YouTuber from Murcia laughingly replied: "I really pissed him off." "I had to push really hard," Westcol finally admits.
Five months of preparation go a long way, and there are many lessons learned, but for TheGrefg, there's one he learned the hard way: "I should have had the mouthguard with the first blow I got." His rival, however, believes he did everything right, even going out partying the night before the weigh-in. "I was with my family, my friends... I didn't drink any alcohol. Our fight is at two in the morning, I'm going to bed at four... It's a good technique to prepare for the fight," Westcol explains. That said, the first thing the Colombian plans to do as soon as he gets out of the ring is "have a nice tequila and a... [smoking gesture, accompanied by a beep]. It's been many months without one." He's so eager to "burn out" that he'll be DJing at the event's after-party , at the legendary Occo in Seville. "They don't go into Westcol's locker room after the fight," laughs TheGrefg, who shares with him a complicity rarely seen in such an important duel.
Another duel in which "good vibes" will reign between the fighters will be the one between Perxitaa and Gaspi , who will be the third to enter the ring. Two beasts of height and weight who guarantee a spectacle, especially now, after the impressive physical change of the Argentine, who has lost 26 kilos almost in secret. So much so that, whoever wins, Gaspi will invite Perxitaa to his native Argentina to "enjoy a good barbecue." "Of course, I won't do it, unless you want a burnt barbecue, but I'm sure with the money Ibai pays us, the meat will be good ," he says mockingly.
While bodybuilders Andoni and Carlos Belcast demonstrate why they're best friends by boxing with plastic figures—more concerned with laughing than hitting each other—the atmosphere changes completely when Abby and Roro enter the scene. Of all the female duels La Velada has had, this promises to be one of the most epic. After fracturing her foot, it was doubtful whether the TikToker would be ready for the fight, but she assures that she feels "better than ever," despite having to deal with "certain disadvantages in the ring." Her "weak" point, in her rival's opinion, is "her height": Abby is 23 centimeters taller than Roro. But the streamer 's lack of experience could work against her, after years sitting in front of the computer and "a lot of alcohol and 'LOL'," as she acknowledges.
However, she already has another rival on the horizon she'd like to face. "I'd like to revisit the Lola Indigo fight one day," reveals the Mallorcan, referring to the proposal she made to the Granada-born singer for The Evening of the Year 3. Is Abby's 2.0 participation coming in 2026?
